A long long time ago Princess Emily lived in a castle in a faraway country. She was a mysterious, weird girl always in her room. She didn't have friends and she was always bullied by her sister Princess Aria. She was bullied because she was different and didn’t talk as much. She was shy.
Princess Emily did not want to be shy and she didn’t like being bullied so she visited Ms Hegde. Ms Hegde was a good witch helping anyone with anything and then Princess Emily shows up. “ Hello Princess Emily.
What do you need?” said Ms Hegde.
“I need your help, I don’t want to be shy any more and I hate being bullied so I need to get more confident.”
“So you need potions and a magic wand?” asked Ms Hegde.
“Of course.”
“Well here you go but there are other things you can
do. Make new friends, Speak up more and ask friendly questions but the most important thing is to be happy and smile more.”
Princess Emily was pleased. She made new friends and became happier. She became closer with Princess Aria and played more with her sister which made them two best friends forever.

Matific
Our school has joined the matific games where New Zealand and Australia win prizes well playing. This is a educating fun website that we play on. We began last week where we practised all these games. You get to one thousand and then you will receive a golden card where you collected monsters and then put them into your monster book. My favorite was the flying colours.

Sewing Technology
We made a tote bag in sewing. I made my one blue and white because I thought
it would look good and it did. I did measurements to make it fit my netbook and other little things. The width of the bag is 15 in millimeters and the length of it is 16 in millimeters. I made this by myself with the help of the teacher so thank you for that.

Fire Drill
Walht: Write and explanation
Why is there a need for a fire drill/safety?
Why do we have a fire drill? If there is a real fire people need to know what to do to save their lives. You only know this if you practise regularly. You and your classmates could be in danger so knowing what to do can help you stay calm.
When the fire alarm goes everyone has to know not to take anything with them. You have to know where the best exit is because you need to get out quickly and it’s important not to all use the same exit. Running through people can cause accidents and it can be really dangerous. Practice helps you to follow the teachers without screaming, running and freaking out.
Schools and homes should always have an assembly point. Teachers check if everyone is safely out of the building. If there is a fire alarm at home parents can check on their family. Everyone should know to ring 111 but make sure first to get out of the house and somewhere safe. Practising regularly can help remember these things. It’s really important not to get too dramatic because it can scare everyone.
Having a fire drill is also a chance to check that all the equipment is working. It’s important to check the bells to see if the batteries are working and that no one has vandalised them.
At home it’s a chance to check space heaters, candles and fire from the fireplace. When having a practice you can hear, touch and see things that are not working like the alarms and the hose.
Fires are really dangerous and people can die. Practising fire drills regularly reminds people how to behave and to check the equipment is working. Practice makes perfect!

The Bubblegum Machine
Activity 1
Discuss the choice of character names chosen by the author.
Ms Goo - I think it goes with her she loves the gobbledy goo machine that oozed and made gum.
Lucy - I think that lucy is a okay name but I would like something like Emma or maybe even Olivia.
Mr Chew - This is a good name also because he also works at the bubble gum shop.
Ms Blewitt - I don’t know if it really goes with style and everything else I would call her Emily.

Activity 4
The figurative language from the text is in green on the vocab slide.
Choose 1 to draw a picture to explain the literal meaning.
Use the words in a sentences or explain the figurative meaning.
|
Today I have chose these two activities because I could make my own decision on the names and see what went with the character the most. I want to learn about sayings just like bite of more than I can chew things like that I can improve my vocab which leads to acceleration.

E Te Ariki
Today we learnt a Maori song called E Te Ariki. The boys had a part and the girls had apart but most of the girls helped the boys. I actually learned this song from last year. We are going to be learning more Maori things I hope.

Pizza for Room 8
Today Ms Collins shouted room 8 pizza because of 3 out of 4 people doing the winter blogging program. I did not do this because of sports, babysitting and doing family needs. I did not eat pizza as the others enjoyed it. But thank you Mrs Collins for the pizza.

Comparing Fractions
This week we used inequality signs <, > and = to compare fractions.
On Monday we used materials. This was confusing for me because I was confused with using the signs and we learned that by comparing fractions by putting one over another to see which one’s bigger.

On Tuesday we used a fraction chart. This was easy for me because I could fiscally see the fractions on the chart by using my two fingers to see which one was a bigger size.

On Wednesday we worked without the above. We learnt a strategy which was to make the denominators the same. The knowledge required to solve to problems this way is to know your times table.
This was easy for me because I had done it before and that way I could understand it

Football Skills
- Place your body in between the ball and the opponent.
- Use your lace, outer foot, inner foot and the bottom of your shoe
- Pass to your player when you're stuck
- Get free so you can get the ball
- Don’t kick higher than the hip
- Dribble the ball
The skills that I used were simple control of the ball. I controlled the ball and passed to my teammates. I kept the ball somewhere that I can control it. But practice makes perfect so learning new skill really helps.
That sport that I play is touch. It’s the sport that runs in my family's blood so I’ve watched and played for years but football came into my sisters hobby list and know I’ve became use to it. Football and touch are a different sport but there are things that are in common. Here are the differences from touch and football.
- In touch you can use your hands in football you can’t
- In football you can tackle (football style) but in touch you can’t
- In touch you can’t kick the ball but in football you can
It was a fun sport to play and I will love to have another go at football.
