My speech

Kia orana,Kia ora,hola,talofa,malo lelei ,Namaste and welcome to you all.Hi my name is Mya  and today i will be speaking to you about saving trees. There are many types of trees that are in danger, because of deforestation. Deforestation happens because people cut down trees.So today i am the voice of the beautful trees!!

Save the trees:

What if… What if there was no trees in the entire world.Not one single leaf,branch or tree around.Imagine our world bare with only houses. We need our trees for oxygen, fruit, and the wonderful  bird the kiwi. If we had the choice to choose only a world with only houses or would you choose a world with houses, trees, and wonderful leaves.

What they think:

Every tree in this world gets cut  down and made out of paper, and then turned into money we don't need.  I know you must think i’m crazy but you don't understand what trees have been through, so just think if you were a tree; how would you feel if you were going to be cut down? Terrible, horrible, disgusted ? I think it’s all of the above.

Why trees should be cut down or should not be cut down:

Why..Why should trees be cut down?Do you know why because I don’t.Did you know that kids love trees because they can see birds and you can have fun.In my opinion I think that trees should not be cut down because of oxygen and animals.Do you know that 6 billion trees get cut down every year in new zealand and that couses deforstation and 400 billion trees get cut down around the world.

There was a forest called Victoria rainforest but know  see what  happened to it know it is called the Victoria desert.

My conclusion:

So do you think i’m crazy after all? Now you know that i’m a person who cares about nature, trees and ourselves.Thank you

Supermarket

Supermarket

On the 22.10.15 we went to the supermarket in Glen innes. There was a man who was shouting “DO YOU HAVE A DUTY CAR COME AND WE WILL WASH YOUR CAR”!To every car.There was a lot of cars they all said “Be quiet “ When there was no more traffik, jam we went inside we saw the bananas because it was the first thing on the list it was not clean it was smelly dirty and rotten.

We went in aisle  6 and got the lunches for school it was nutella,bar,strawberries and then I saw the uno the yogurt, it was mouth-watering I was full of hands so I said to Mum”Can I go and get a trolley”She said”yes but be quick’’So I ran with the shopping basket in my, hands it was busy and I got stuck in the crowd and then I told them to MOVE!.

Every one went out of my way and then there was this lady the was crazy she was old mean crazy and, was wearing rags and was large and heavy.Once I we, finished our shopping.We went and payed at the ATM and did my mum’s pin it cost 50.20$.

I was lucky and got two packets of lollies I was happy in the end.I felt like it was the first time it funny crazy and strange.

I am learning Equivalent fractions

We have learned how to do equivalent and this is some of them that we did so like 1/2 =1/4 or 1/3 =26 and also 1/2 =2/4.It was fun making all these equivalent fraction.

MIX IT UP

This a story is mixed up with My friend,River,character,hurricane

One day I went to my best friends Shanelle’s house.

Shanelle  looks like a professional model in dancing with the stars. She always impressed me when she danced. My friend moves in  a nice slow motion way.

She alway buys rich clothes and perfumes and

she smells like a red rosey pink rose.

We decide it was a bright day so we'd play outside.

While we played we decided to play on the jungle gym because it got boring . I  called my mum  from the bright blue car to say if she could play with me

When people look at my mum they think I have a mum that plays for the silver ferns.

She smells like a red rose that grows in our house.

She runs like a lion and that she's a hero.

I can see her nice voice .

People around her ask are you the gaol shoot in the silver ferns.

Mum didn't want to come . she came she said there is a storm coming so get your friend and let’s go.

we were going home then a storm hit we were scared and mad because we were going to play on the slide.

As I marched outside I was shaking all of a sudden. There were large cracks appearing on the concrete. I had sensed that a tornado or hurricane was about to strike.

I sprinted home to warn my parents. As I got home they already knew the bad news. They were watching the news and the weather report had announced that a hurricane was hitting Auckland. We were all panicking.

Many months before we had packed a large emergency kit in case of a bad emergencies. So we packed that and many other supplies into the back of the boot of our car. We drove off out of Auckland to our backup home.  

A few days after the hurricane had finished, we drove back home to see all the damage that had happened to it. Trees were smashed into it, the roof was ripped off and everything was just ruined. We couldn't believe our eyes. We drove back to our other home.There was a tropical storm that was just appearing.

It was the worst experience of a hurricane happening in my entire life.After two years we went to go and see if “OH no here it’s happening again” you could see lightning striking houses and trees and you could see it smashing people and killing them.My mother reassured me that all would be good.We toke off and we were speeding thourth the moter way.My mum was holding me tight I was so terrified.

when we saw the bridge we also saw the river going on to the bridge that made it break so we called shanelles dad.

The River hits the bank and rips the trees from its stump and tacks all the sand from the natcher.Dolphins swim and they are not happy so they keep safe under the deep blue sea.It turns into black water that looks like aserd sperdinding.There are cars that are brocken cows with no life and kids and people how have died.It is like a devil is coming to kill and take all the souls.

So I got up and I was very happy because my sisters

and my mum are coming to watch.I had a touch game and was so happy because we were going to rotorua and we will be staying there for two weeks.

I ran very slowly because I was wing and I had a cool coach his name was Trevor.I could smell the egg fart that was coming from

the big boling thing.I was crying because we won and

we got a big shiny gold belt.

We got a big bucket and

poured cold ice on him but we did it very very slowly

I went back to the  hotel and I ran to the pool and jumped in.I ran to the spa upstairs and I stayed there for as long as I could.

I went back home and had a big feed because I was hungry after the big swim. I

had a kitten that I find at my house.I saw a lot of boys and girls.

so then I went to go and get me a ice cream from the shop but when I came back everybody scared me because I was the player of the day.

So it was a big day for me so I got home and I had a big sleep.

Hurry up

“Hurry up”said mum “the taxi will be here any minute”.“Okay” I replied and hurriedly i got dressed and sprinted extremely fast downstairs.

Unexpectedly I felt sick so I moned to my mum, she then said”, okey okey you're not going to school”so I stayed home with my nana.I did not have a good day thou, did not eat or sleep.I took a medicine after a while I had a sore head so I waited for 4 hours and then took a tablet.I really got sick I had to go to the hospital.

conclusion

I threw up, it was the biggest one that I had done.I was in pain so I said can I see a doctor, so my mum went to go and find a doctor.I was so happy and sad.  I was only happy because I got to have a big feed and the sad bit was all because I had to have plain bread to ease my tummy.

Swimming Day One

Our Summer Swimming Lessons

The first day of our swimming lesson for 2015, was on the second day of returning back to school.  It was chilly but it just got warmer and warmer because of the sun and a lot of swimming.

First 2 people had to swim freestyle and then my teacher would  give us a number. My number was one and my friend  also had  the number one too. We went in first and swam freestyle.

Next it was backstroke. First it was fun, but then we had to do 5 laps of swimming. It was tiring but it was good exercise and we were learning how to do backstroke. Backstroke is a little bit of hard work.

Then we got to do breaststroke. I did a lap of breaststroke and then I waited for the rest of the class to have their turn.  

After that we had a bit of free time but it was very little. I enjoyed playing with my friends in the pool.

Finally we got out and had a shower. Then we got changed and headed back to class. Day one was amazing.

  

Mya learns about money.

After morning tea Tessa from ASB bank came to talk to us about being smart with money.

First Tessa came and said that saving money is really good and then she called 2 people up.It was Limi and Gordon. They had money charts. They were saving up for a car.  I sat at the front because I couldn't see because Sita was in my way.

After that she said if a I could be the 3rd person. She picked me and I had the 3rd  chart.  Limi had the 2 and Gordon had the 1. Tessa said to me to flip my 1st page on my calendar I was saving 15 dollars a week.  Then I had to flip my page again . I had $2340 dollars in my money box. I could buy an old car.  Limi could buy  the ok car and Gordon got the cool car.  I wished I had Gordon's car.  Then we learnt the chant. It was like this.

“If you have some money

what do you do?

spend some on you

and save some too.”

In the end Tessa give us some ASB getWISE bands. I got the yellow band. I liked the yellow band because it was a nice color. This was our photos that Mr.Ramkolowan took from the back of the classroom.

Swimming 2015

Everybody had to get into a line and go into the pool. We had to have a turn to do breaststroke’ It was cool to swim to the other end of the pool. My eyes were red because I opened my eyes underwater and mr Shaun had just put chlorine .First we did a warm up. After that we had to do 10 laps of freestyle and then another 10 laps of backstroke. Next we learnt how to keep our hands like a rocket. The last thing we had was free time in the pool. I was happy because we had fun at the pool.
