Poem - Vollyball

The ball screamed through the air.
The ball rebounded on the line.
The ball digged the ground.
The net blocked the ball.
The ball stopped at the line.
The ball hit the ground

Heavy vs Light

"wow" We got to have a go on the Heavy and light contraption it's where you let the ping pong ball go all the way down the tube and then there was a leva where you had to lift it up but on the bottom of it there was a bowling ball. Then the little ping pong ball would fly right out "whew" and out it went.

I learnt...

So the one thing I learnt from was the look at your heart. It was a moving animation where there was a big black circle with slits on the sides of it and inside it had pictures of a real heart. You would spin the black circle and look through the slits on the sides. It was amazing it's just like seeing you own heartbeat.

The activities I liked

The two best activities I liked the best was the feet size and your height. We saw how small my feet was and it was about 3 and 4 I really have tiny feet. I also really liked how we had measured out highet and saw how high we could jump to see who could jump the highest and I came third.

Migration

Today Ms.Maude talked about her knowing of the Maori history of finding New Zealand. So according to Ms.Maude she started the story of Kupe. Well she says the he lived in hawaii and was chasing a octopus he went around all the pacific islands and then he found the North Island. He said" I am going to bring my people here." So he told the chiefs and off they went. They named the boats as Aotea, Tearawa, Tokomoru, Tainui, Kurahaupo, Takitimu and Mataatua. As Kupe went to the North Island he named it Aotearoa. She also said that Tainui was a part of the Tearawa boat the navigator had gone on the Tainui boat so the Tearawa boat had no navigator and asked Ngatoroirangi to navigate them. As Ngatoroirangi was going around Aotearoa naming different parts of the island. When they settled down the parents would cook and do all the other important things. The grandperants would tell stores, songs and how to make tools but the most important thing was "HISTORY."

Physical and chemical changes

Today we went to the science road show at Baradene Collage. We first had a live show that was about Physical and chemical changes. What they showed us was oobleck it is a very strange looking pink substance. Well it is a hard and watery kind of substance and when you put pressure on it would bounce right off. It was a very were substance but very fun at the same time.

Apple Turnover

Apple turnover

IMG_20170517_123429.jpg

Pastry - 4g
½ Apple - 21/2g

Estimate:
Sugar - 1 tsp
Sultana - 1m

Walht: Use measurement to make a apple turnover.

The first to do for the apple turnover was to weigh half of an apple and that and that weight 2 and a half of grams (2.1/2). Then we cut them into small pieces and ate that left overs. We got our pastry and weight it too that was 4g. We then added the apples to the pastry and added 1 teaspoon of sugar and added sultanas. We then folded it and then weighed it again and that was still 4 grams. We then drizzle milk over it and add sugar and then weight it one last time but it was 70g.

Momo (Twice)

I have chosen Momo from Twice, a very famous singing and dancing group in South Korea. I admire her because of the way she plays sports as well as being part of the group. Although she grew up in Japan, where she was called Hirai Momo, she now lives in Seoul in South Korea where there are other famous Korean groups. I have seen her on many different TV shows and videos on youtube.

She is brave because her parents didn't want her to move to South Korea and take up a career in dancing but in the end she decided to have a go. I also admire her because she is very smart and is also a fast learner. She is very committed to learning different kinds of dances like hip-hop, acrobatics and many more. I know that she is very honest because I have seen her on a TV show where she got asked a question and if she was dishonest she would have got an electric shock but her answers were all honest. She is great with the guitar and loves to play and teach the other members.

Momo also wants to have a group with her and her sister in the future but she also wants Twice to become the best girl group in Korea. She is also kind because she is very supportive of other members of her group. She also wishes that her group can get the song of the year, rookie of the year and best pop song.

I would like to be as talented as Momo but I would also like to be kind, supportive, committed, honest and brave.

Kayaking - Thank you Nestle and Michelle

On tuesday we went to nestle's activity day. We had to do four sports on that day. There was 4 groups but 1 group had no teacher. The 4 activities we did was swimming, track, rock climbing and kayaking. In between we had lunch that they provided. I was in group 3 and that group was the group with no teacher and it was so fun. I think that the best activity was kayaking. After all the activities we headed onto the bus and went back to school. Thank you Nestle

Opinion: Sideswipe.NZ Herald

Well you know that these days everyone has a phone and social media. As seen today no one can get off social media. In my opinion no one will take this job but if they really need the money they will. At the same time i think it would be a good idea and it would be hard at first and then it will get easier.

Evil Twin

IMG_20170502_114240.jpg
Walht: use creative skills to write an interesting narrative.

Evil Twin
“I’m late it’s 2 o’clock,” Mrs Oxford said.
“I need to go to the hall because I’m helping another teacher,” said Mya 2.
“Okay,” said Mrs Oxford.
Mya 1 then asked to go and help Mr Jackson in room 11 and Mrs Oxford said “Yes,” but what the teacher didn't know was that Mya 1 was going to spy on her twin Mya 2.
Mya 1 was just about to reach the hall but she was too late. Mya 2 had already gone CRAZY! She trashed the whole hall from broken chairs to rubbish everywhere. It was a mess.

“I’ve got it now, It’s show time,!” screeched Mya 1. She thought she would take a photo for evidence of how Mya 2 behaved.
“But wait, how am I going to take a photo with no phone?” It had backfired.
“This sucks,” thought Mya 1. “I really wanted it to work.” “All this hard work has gone down the drain, just because I don’t have a phone.”

Mya 1 then thought so hard. BANG! She had the biggest idea ever. She SPRINTED to all the teachers to ask them to go to the hall asap. But all you could hear was a herd of elephants racing to the hall.
“Mya 2 what are you doing? I told you not to make a mess,” said Principal Kai.
“Off to the office you go,” shouted Mr Jackson.

Mya 1 thought that she would try a different way of dealing with her twin. “Hey, would you like to play?” asked Mya 1.
“Yea, I would love that. I don’t have many friends here,” said Mya 2.
“Hello. I’m Vanessa. I’m Mya 1’s friend. Do you want to play with us? We’re playing netball,” said Vanessa

“Um, sure,” said Mya 2. They all got along well even Mya 2. She had never had a bigger smile on her face. Her red dim eyes turned into the colors of the water. It was amazing but also her dark and ugly soul brightened like the sun. She didn't wreck anything from that day on because she was having fun.
