Rounding Whole Numbers

Today for math we did rounding numbers. We did this as a second follow up task. I went to 20 questions and got them all right. All you have to do is round it to the numbers given.

Astria Opinion

“Students don’t learn much playing this game called Astria – Countdown to Impact: Their time could be better spent doing other things”.

I partly disagree because I can learn different things like strong vocabulary, skim read, inferences, critical thinking and understanding tricky paragraphs but also the game can have different perspectives and POV (point of view) like when talking about death.

Teachers Strike

Today in the first session we did a DLO on teachers strike. We did a powtoon as it was easier to work with and more fun. WALT:understand how to use FORREST to persuade.

Today we created a DLO based on the acronym FORREST. FORREST stands for Facts Opinion Rhetorical Question Repetition Emotive Language Statistics Three (groups of) We explained the meaning to each subject with an example. We found this task very easy because we were working as a team and as we finished off the work we had a better understanding of FORREST. Today in technology we did a logo on different charities. I did mine on animals called SASO (Special Animal Safety Organization). I think this logo will look of the charity boxes I am going to make.

Today we started our inquiry topic for this term. This terms topic is tourism in New Zealand. For this activity we had to come up with ideas for reasons why tourists came to New Zealand. Not only that we also had to group them but to put them into categories.
