Summer Learning Journey Day 5 Activity 2

Three fun things I can do as a visitor in Waitangi...

  1. The shoreline provides a continuously changing panorama of the bay where warriors, whalers, sailors and settlers arrived in New Zealand
  2. The 6-kilometre forest walk that leads to Haruru Falls, the natural environment is spectacular
  3. Explore the small semi-formal garden that surrounds the Treaty House.

Hi Mya,

It sounds like there are a number of great things to do and see in Waitangi. I had the opportunity to visit the grounds of the Treaty House a few house and really enjoyed it. Like Vedel, I am curious about whether you have had the opportunity to visit yourself. Have you been to Waitangi before?

I am also really keen to learn more about where you discovered the cool facts. Did you find them on a website somewhere? If so, it would be awesome if you could please provide us with the name of the website and/or the url so that we could go ahead and take a look at it ourselves. It also ensures that we are giving credit to the people who wrote the information on the website, originally.

Thanks, Mya! Keep up the great work. I am learning a lot from reading your posts :)

Cheers,
Rachel

Kia Ora Mya,

Thanks so much for answering my question so quickly and for adding the link. I really appreciate it and I know that others will, too. I hope that you are able to get up to Waitangi one day in the future. It is a long way to go but is well worth the visit...

All the best~
