Pace, Acceleration and Consolidation

The 3 keywords for this year are PACE, ACCELERATION and CONSOLIDATION. For the first basic facts assessment  I got 26 and in week 3 I got 30 I think this is acceleration.

For the next basic facts I hope to get 35 to 40. I will consolidate  my fractions and percentages and division.

Water Color Painting

This was my first try at water color painting with Mr Ramkolowan and I thought it was a success. The first easy techniques are
1. Water on water
2.Water on dry
3.Dry on water
There is other techniques that you can do but these are the easiest.

Because her brothers were taking too much time.She wanted 2 braids but her mum couldn't because they were late so her mum but it in a bun and she didn't get her 2 braids.

2. What is happening when the author describes the reef as ‘rising out of the ocean’?

The tsunami is rising from the water and going towards the village.

3. Put yourself in Ana or Niko’s shoes...how would you feel seeing the giant wave rolling towards you?

SCARED BECAUSE I COULD'VE DIEDDD.

4.Why would Ana and Niko run towards the mountainside?

Because it was the highest place.

5.Where does a tsunami come from?

It comes from the sea

6. How do you think Ana’s mum made it to safety with her baby?

With a plane or helicopter

7. Do some research. What are precautions we can take to make sure we are prepared for a tsunami?

When in coastal areas, stay alert for tsunami warnings.

Plan an evacuation route that leads to higher ground.

Know the warning signs of a tsunami: rapidly rising or falling coastal waters and rumblings of an offshore earthquake.

Never stay near shore to watch a tsunami come in.

-Rubbing Alcohol

-Bottle (Plastic) - With Lid

MEthod

1.Pour a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol into the bottle

2.Light a match and blow it out so smoke is produced.

3.Hold your bottle under the match while squeezing .

4.blow it out so smoke is produces smoke, and release the bottle so the smoke is sucked into the bottle

5.Immediately close the bottle tight with the lid.

6.Squeeze bottle as hard as possible and release - the bottle should fill with a cloud.

A Grin from ear to ear

A Grin from Ear to Ear.

1. What is a “Grin”= A Smile

2.  Who is “grinning”? = Tipene and his Koro

3.What was Tipene and his Koro doing? = Fishing

4..What is a “Pannie”? =Pizza bread

5.  Why did Tipene feel a tug on his line? =because a fish was trying to get the bait and then it got stuck on the line.

6.  What “Battle” was Tipene talking about on page 13? = He meant that he had to find another fish because the fish had got and way and it s a battle to find another one.

7.  Why was Tipene jumping up and down (page 14)?= Because he got a big snapper.

8.  Why did Koro say “We’ll be swimming soon . . .”? = Because that would be tipene's treat going for a swim.

9.  Why was Tipene grinning from “Ear to ear”? = Because he was happy.

10.  Why did Koro ask him to let the fish go? =because he wants the fish to have more fish so that
